Hi. I am Silke. I am based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. I see patients in the wider Barnsley Area in a clinic, see patients online and also offer home visits.

I have been passionate about working with people with a learning disability and / or autism since my first job as a support worker in 1994.  I have worked within the specialism of autism and learning disabilities for over 20 years. I see clients in my private practice. I worked as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist in the NHS until 2023.

I feel privileged to provide Therapy, Assessments and Consultancy to people with a learning disability (between the ages of 14 to 90+) and / or autism, Support their families and carers.

Whilst I am an expert in psychology and I use approaches that are based on science and research I believe every person has the ability to be an expert about themselves. I take time, listen carefully and adapt to your individual needs.

I completed the doctor in Clinical Psychology at Leeds University in 2003. I hold the Certificate of Diagnostic Interview for Social and Communication Disorders (DISCO) in 2013.

I am registered with:

• The Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) reference PYL27381 and

• the British Psychological Society (PBS) reference 083259.

• I have a clean police record (DBS checked).

• I have training to keep everybody safe (Safeguarding training).

• I check that my treatments are the right ones (I have supervision).
